Well, it took me a while to put the picture up ... it was shot at the
beginning of March. We don't have them at the moment, but we could. We
could still have some until mid-April.

But things are growing under the snow, and where it's melted, there's
hardy stuff popping up, all green and new.

I'm just glad that doggie tootsie rolls don't grow into tootsie roll
trees.

You ane me both.

Here on the eastern plains in Colorado, we may still get some more snow,
but we already have some of the hardier plants flowering, including some
of our ever returning Pansies.

Luckily, the tootsie rolls get recycled by other lifeforms before they can
germinate. Whew!

Cheeky little buggers. I've got a viola kingdom spreading to every bed that
started with one innocent little 4" pot of Johnny Jump Ups. I ripped them
all up in the late fall because of powdery mildew. But I'm about 155%
confident that they'll come back bigger and better than ever.If they weren't
so darn cute, in all their variations, I'd consider them invasive.

Then there are the snapdragons we started in a flowerbox on our fence.
Every year we find them dispersed further and further from the box,
growing in the rocks we put down over weed barrier. Not that we are
complaining at all, they flower for so long and provide a beatiful array
of color.

We had bright sun and 53 degrees here yesterday so I can't complain...until
later when we are supposed to get more snow.
On the brightside, it is supposed to be in the 40s tomorrow, so the snow
shouldn't stick around.

Since I posted of course, the clouds have moved in, and we are supposed
to get snow, but, it will melt off within a day or two as well.

I'd take the northern winter over the gulf summer any day of the week,
mind you, better yet, I'll just stay here in Colorado where it stays dry,
and when we do get a touch of winter, it's just long enough to remind you
it's winter, then it's back to nice sunny days in the 50s or higher.

I loved, no LURVED, the weather in CO -- 4 seasons. Snow usually melted
in three four days. Got up to 90 maybe twice in the summer. Perfect!

One of these summers, something so evil is going to emerge from the Gulf
Coast that it will make Chthulu beg for ice cream.

Ony my opinion.
